When Jesus walked the earth, God's word was central to life. It was the everyday conversation of the community. They were brought together by the text, and they even agreed on a text of the week. This same ancient rythmn is available to us today! Join us in reading and commenting on what is know as the "Parashah." Imagine a community whose unity is rooted in the very word of God!

Ok - so I see no one has commented on any text in a long time. So, maybe the only one to read this will be Scott or maybe no one - safe like a journal. Either way, I'll lay it out there. This is tough. We are trying to help our son get this one. I realize I am working on this one, especially with my mom. Don't really know what's standing in the way, but know it is not as it should be. This is a huge issue in my family. There is generational healing to come for my family in this. Abuse on one side and abandonment on the other. My parents have healing in store as the L-rd has promised me in Isaiah 61. I have no idea when or how. What I do know is that his promises are certain and his hope is sure. How do you honor parents/grandparents who have wounded so horribly and speak with such venom and some that are dead and have left this legacy behind? I know that it is our heartitude that God cares about. So, I watch and wait expectantly as G-d gives us one day at a time and somehow know that the challenge to honor our father and mother is part of the healing.
