The Levites are appointed to carry the tabernacle, all its furnishings, and the ark. They have nothing, no property and no salary, all they do is serve and literally carry the presence of God around. In Numbers 1:47-54 it outlines this principle. After the Israelites are freed from Egypt, their very next step is a relentless stream of minute monotonous tasks with the intention of building a community. The Levites therefore, with their assignment of carrying around the tabernacle and ark..are essentially ushering in the light of the Lord to a people being freed from slavery. 1Chronicles 16:4

Scott described this as a "Joyous Burden." Remember the Levites were nothing but complete servants. They were the humblest of humbles. Remember humility...as you read on.

Here is where it gets awesomely applicable to the worship team.
The Levites...were singers. 1Chronicles 15:16-22
I love it, "Chenaniah, leader of the Levites in music, should direct the music, for he understood it." I used to think that just meant that he was good at music or something but no

he UNDERSTOOD it!!! a humbleness of heart in carrying around the prescence of God into a dark world DIVINELY and naturally makes the Levites the appropriate choices for the ancient worship team!!!!! makes you wonder about the African slaves and their spiritual songs huh?
