This parasha seems so similar to the one a couple of weeks ago. All the details repeated.

G-d does love the details at times. What do the times G-d seems interested in the details have in common?

The Woo Hoo giving of the Isrealites looks a little different than the resistance most of us feel about giving.

This does seem like a time when G-d clearly cast a vision for a building with the intent for people "who feel called" will respond. Maybe that's the right heart. Maybe instead of compelling people through manipuation we are called to share what G-d is doing and then let people respond as the spirit inspires them to do so.

Looks so much like a regular campaign. Have we once again run into a time when its all about motive. About heart. Whose buildings are we building. G-d's. The community's at large. OUr own.

http://www.glencairnmuseum.org/tabernacle/materials.htm

some fun factoids about the materials in the tabernacle
i.e. the dye that colors the "tassels" on the fringe of such garments (hmmm what story everyone?) was made by boiling shellfish from the Mediterranean Sea
the scarlet dye comes from extracting the chemical from a worm
6 "But I am a worm and not a man,
scorned by men and despised by the people."-psalm 22..?

Scott,
This Scripture and this story illustrate the "heart" of your comment. Thought I'd share it.

"Everyone whose heart stirred him and everyone whose spirit moved him” (Exodus 35:21) contributed freely.

Once a rabbi named Yochanon ben Zakkai (John the son of Zaccheus) asked his disciples, “What is the best kind of character that a person should try to be like?” The first of his disciples answered, “A man with a good eye.” By this he meant a generous person. The second disciple answered, “A man who is a good friend.” The third disciple said, “A man who is a good neighbor.” The fourth disciple said, “A man who looks ahead to consider the consequences of his actions.” The fifth disciple said, “A man who has a good heart.” Rabbi Yochanon replied, “I like the last answer the best because it includes all the other answers.”
